Pata Negra 2019 Caribbean 600 Podium finish

Pata Negra comes 3rd in IRC1 in the 2019 Caribbean 600

28th February 2019

Pata Negra, Lombard 46, has come third in IRC 1 at the RORC Caribbean 600 with a time of 3 days, 34 minutes and 58 seconds.

Pata Negra was chartered by a team from Germany. 6 of the crew had never been offshore before, usually sailing together on 8 metre's, Dragons and J70s in light winds and flat water on Lake Constance on the German/Swiss border. The Caribbean trades were there for a different kettle of fish for some of them, for others they were nothing with one crew member being part of the 1988/89 German Whitbread entry.

The crew came together extremely well. they enjoyed a few days training the week before the race to get to know the boat and skipper. When it came to the race they were rearing to go. They loved every minute of the windy wavey 600 course with the perfect boat for the reachy conditions.

The race was the first race with our new skipper, Andy Lis, and is a great sign of things to come!
